Malwarebytes anti-malware/mbam.exe

My AVG anti-virus free edition 2011 says this is a trojan horse back door,I am not sure if this false alarm or genuine, but the avg won't allow me to run this if I try to download the programme as it says this is a trojan.
(Someone has told me it is a false positive,I have also written an email to avg.com)

I wonder if MM are aware of the problem.

Windows event viewer Internet, ammyy admin-free desktop sharing and remote control software and teamviewer scam

A scam where you are called up by someone claiming to be from tech support, pc world, microsoft or whatever claiming to  offer computer support.

Today (april 23 2011) at about 1.15pm, I received a phone call from someone claiming they were calling on behalf of my local isp, saying i had a virus on my computer and i would need to  go to a certain website, couldn't understand him(although i did guess the word viewer from realising this properbly had something to do with the windows event viewer scam)I eventually worked out teamviewer, said i should download teamviewer so he could sort out virus problem,he actually cut out on me once, third time didn't answer him.
Not sure teamviewer could even be installed on my computer.
Incidentally teamviewer are a reputable firm who don't approve of misuse of their software.

On first phonecall mentioned I should type in ammyy(ammyy admin-free remote desktop sharing and remote control software).
His indian accent(i think he said his name was ray or jeff, can't remember) was so thick and the line so bad that i couldn't understand him,I think if i remember correctly he then tried to get me to type in the teamviewer thing, only i thought he was saying `g', i only realized later when I googled it that `g' was actually `t' also mentioned `vw' methinks, I guessed as i said above that he meant viewer, he  said `yes' and he then said teamviewer, I actually typed it into google and went the page, spotting a wikipedia entry which I clicked on to read all about teamviewer and i read about the malicious use of this software,so realized this was properbly the same as the windows event viewer scam.
The scammer wasn't helped by the fact that my mind went blank when he talked to me.
Perhaps the scammer would do better if could find a honest line of work.

Spotting scam websites

Ask yourselve the following questions

Is a website selling brand name items at too cheap a price?

Check where the website is registered, how long it has been  registered and to whom, look for domain name registration information on such wesites as whois.com and nominet.ord.uk(for uk domain names)

check for feedback and reviews, both negative and positive by entering the website name into a search engine.
also check to see if address is a mail forwarding service.

Does company have a full geographic address, not a PO BOX or mailbox number.

Find out how to contact the company and look for a landline number.
Find out if number works or is anautomated message or answerphone.

Be very wary if only an email address or mobile number is given.

Be wary of companies that have recently started up.

If it too good to to be true,it probably is.
